to be continue

In my topic, I will talk about the fashion, what the fashion is, how the fashion developed in the past years, and how fashion effects people's behavior. Therefore, these three main points would be my thesis statement. I think my audience will be the people who study for anthropology, or humanity, phycology and closing design and marketing. I hope my wok will be helpful for the people who study for these majors. I will introduce the definiton about the fashion, so that will be helpful to the students who work on closing design. Also being fashion is a kind of human's behavior, so that students who like phycology will interesting in this topic. Marketing students will interesting about how to develope their market, and also I will mention about it. My purpose is divide in three subpoints. The first is to introduce three fashion brands, which I like them most. Also they are very popular in the world. Second, I want to know their history, how they developed. Third, I want to analyze people's behavior and their minds. Why they want to buy the products of these brands. What the charateristics in these brands. To figure out these problems is my purpose.
My working research question is whether fashion is the result of closing industory or is the result of meeting people's demand. I mean who decide what fashion is, people make it, or brands make it.
http://www.levistrauss.com/Heritage/History.aspx. There is one source I found in the internet. There is a offical web-site for Levis. This web-site including Levi's history and how this company develope its market and also introduce Levis Jeans in specific charatersitcs. http://french-fashion-designers.suite101.com/article.cfm/the_history_of_louis_vuitton. There is a source about Lv's history. This web-site including a brife history information. According to the video we studied in the class. The first Levis offical web-site does not have author's name, however, I think it is offical web-site so that I think the information is reliable. Also the information is recently update. One problem is this the offical web-site, so I think the information lack of objective. However, the information about their charateristic is value to my further working. The web-site about Lv's history, the author is

Okay, let's work with your research question.

Is fashion is the result of closing industory or is the result of meeting people's demand.

Do you mean the trends? Are you asking if the designers set the trends or if the consumers set the trends?

I think it would be a good idea to focus on trends, because designers never really go away, they go in an out of style. If so, the research question just needs a bit of tweaking.

Onto the thesis statement -- the three main points aren't a thesis statement.

You can use those ideas and turn them into a thesis statement, but as they are right now, that's not a thesis statement. Your working thesis statement is a tentative response to your research question.

You develop your working thesis from the preliminary research you've done.

You can focus on the three main designers you've chosen, but you need to be careful here -- you need to write with objectivity.

Also, your purpose isn't to divide the subpoints, your purpose has a more important goal. Are you arguing? Persuading? Informing? Describing? That's a purpose.

I strongly recommend visiting the Writing Center for help with this, and we will work on this in class on Monday.
